As an educator, Zane has worked with outreach programs and workshops at various regional theatres in SoCal. He has taught middle grades at San Diego School of the Creative and Performing Arts, and is currently teaching middle school drama at Guajome Park Academy in Vista, CA.
Zane is one of few educators in San Diego County that holds the all-new Single Subject Theatre Teaching Credential, and one of only a handful in the entire state of California.
In today's diverse classrooms, educators hold a pivotal role in fostering inclusive environments that prioritize the experiences and well-being of students from non-dominant cultures. As an educator, I am committed to upholding the principles of inclusivity and equity in my classroom.
I am also committed to embracing an atmosphere of joy and excitement. To quote Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Jerry Greenfield, “If it’s not fun, why do it?” Like Jerry, students have a hunger for fun in their daily lives. In my classroom, students can expect exciting and diverse delivery methods paired with culturally responsive content.
Additionally, I bring years of experience in the professional field of performing arts with me into the classroom. I believe that it is important to connect student learning to real-life applications. I am committed to keeping students engaged in relevant coursework that will serve them in today’s (and tomorrow’s) theatrical climate.
